Position/Rank and Salary: The Criminal Justice Department at Western New England College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Responsibilities for this position include teaching four courses per semester, advising students, and participating in departmental and college service. Courses include introductory classes in criminal justice, and courses in the successful candidate's areas of expertise. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or closely related discipline from an accredited institution, demonstrated teaching experience, and potential for research in a related field of criminal justice. UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA – Orlando, FL. The Department of Criminal Justice & Legal Studies
Position/Rank and Salary: (2) Assistant/Associate Professors in Criminal Justice. Salary is negotiable
Qualifications: Position Responsibilities.  Both positions are responsible for:  1) teaching graduate and undergraduate courses; 2) dissertation service; 3) production of scholarship; 4) pursuit of external funding to support research; 5) active participation in development of departmental initiatives; and, 6) service to the discipline, community and the university.  The teaching load is two or three courses per semester depending on scholarly and research grant activity.
The Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or related discipline is required, and the Ph.D. must be completed by August 1, 2010.  For consideration at rank of Associate the candidate also must have a substantial publication record and demonstrated success securing external funding for research. Specialization is open but preference will be given to candidates with research and instruction interests in corrections (particularly jails), juvenile justice, social science research methods and/or statistics, and criminal justice GIS applications.

Position/Rank and Salary: The Department of Criminal Justice at Loyola University New Orleans is seeking applications for two tenure–track (Assistant and Associate) Professor positions beginning Fall 2010. The Department is expanding in areas of expertise and programming to include a new online degree, Masters of Science in Criminal Justice Administration (MSCJA), aimed at private and public sector criminal justice and risk mitigation practitioners and administrators. We are particularly seeking candidates who have experience in developing and teaching online courses or have helped develop online curriculum.  We desire applicants who are multi-disciplinary in their approach and/or educational backgrounds. 
Areas of specialization and research agenda are open. Our region is a laboratory for all aspects of relevant and practical research. Members of the department have active research agendas and practical experience in a wide range of topics, including disaster and crime, loss prevention, homicide studies, interrogations, victim services, cybercrime, technologies and justice, transnational crime and economic development, forensics, and beyond.
We enjoy a culture of collaboration and collegiality, both within our department and university-wide. INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY - Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, Terre Haute, IN 47809
About the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice: The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice is a unit of the College of Arts and Sciences of Indiana State University.  Courses are offered in criminology, law enforcement, criminal justice administration, law, corrections, and specialized topics consistent with faculty members’ area of expertise leading to bachelor's and master's degrees. The department provides undergraduate and graduate distance learning programs, consulting and training services for criminal justice agencies, and technical support for cooperative programs with practitioners through its Institute of Criminology. The department has a long-term partnership with the Indiana Department of Correction for technical support and training. Additionally, the department has modern classroom facilities including a crime lab, and "smart rooms" for interactive video and computer instruction. Also, our programs offer internship opportunities. In the past few years, enrollment in the department has increased to over 550 undergraduate majors and 110 graduate students both on campus and in the distance education programs. The department is multidisciplinary with emphasis broadly defined as (1) criminal justice administration, including policing and corrections (2) law and society and (3) the nature of crime and delinquency. Position/Rank and Salary: Assistant Professor. This position is a 9-month, tenure-track position with possibilities of summer teaching assignments. Criteria for tenure and promotion include research, scholarship, teaching effectiveness, and service to the university and community.
Qualifications: Candidates are required to have a doctorate, with strong preference given to those with a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.  ABDs with confirmed completion date prior to start of employment will be considered.  Candidates with a JD alone will not be considered.  The successful candidate should have an interest in teaching law enforcement-related courses, as well as other classes in the curriculum. Candidate will eventually have an opportunity to develop new courses. AMERICAN UNIVERSITY - Director, Washington Public Policy Research Institute, Senior Faculty Position
Position/Rank and Salary: The School of Public Affairs at American University seeks the inaugural director of a new Washington Public Policy Research Institute to begin Academic Year 2010-2011 or sooner. The director will report to the Dean of the School of Public Affairs (SPA) and will bring faculty together from across campus to engage in research, proposal development, and scholarly exchange. With over 60 faculty currently engaged in research in the fields of public affairs and public policy, the School of Public Affairs is interested in galvanizing these resources under an institute that will be nationally acclaimed for its research contribution to the major public policy issues of our time.
The successful candidate will provide leadership in tapping the existing capabilities of SPA faculty and craft funding strategies to foster larger scale research and data bases pertinent to critical policy issues. The vision and scope of the new center, its priorities, staffing, management, and potential collaborative partners will fall under the responsibility of the inaugural director. The new Institute will provide support for current faculty seeking external research funding, build teams of scholars in SPA and beyond to seek major research funding, and develop partnerships with other research institutions.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a terminal degree in a relevant discipline, nationally recognized scholarly expertise in a major area of public policy, prior leadership experience in a research center, and a proven track record of significant external funding for research. The selected candidate is eligible for faculty appointment in the School of Public Affairs, with the possibility of appointment to tenured faculty rank (Associate or Full) if the candidate currently holds a tenured position.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level, the ability to develop and maintain an active program of research and a commitment to the participation in university and community service, along with student advising. Preference will be given to those with an ability to teach research methods at the undergraduate level and a desire to collaborate and assume leadership responsibilities in the department.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Criminal Justice or Criminology. The JD alone is not an appropriate degree for this position.
