Membership Information

Thank you for visiting the Membership Information page for the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS). The association is made up of a diverse group of people who represent a wide geographic, both in the United States and International. Our mission - Transforming Justice through Research, Education, and Practice - represents our focus and dedication. We welcome you to become a part of the community!

Membership Categories:

Membership with ACJS is annual.  For each membership category, dues are paid based on a calendar year, January 1 through December 31.  You may join at any time during the year; however, please note: ACJS does not prorate dues payments.  All payments are final and thereby non-refundable. REGULAR

Dues: $125 per year

Regular membership is open to individuals who support the purposes of the Academy of Criminal Justice Science and individuals designated as a regular member by an institutional member.

SENIOR

Dues: $80 per year

Senior membership is open to any individual 65 years of age or older.

LIFETIME

Dues: $3,000, or
four annual payments of $750

Lifetime memberships are open to any regular member.

STUDENT

Dues: $60 per year*

Student membership is open to any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an institution of higher education who supports the purposes of the Academy, whose enrollment is certified by a regular faculty or administrative official of the institution.

INSTITUTIONAL

Dues: $500 per year

Institutional membership is available to any institution of higher education offering a bona fide two-year, four-year, or graduate criminal justice degree program or with a criminal justice research institute. Institutional members shall designate one member of their faculty or administration as a regular member. When a university’s organizational system includes multiple campuses, each campus must individually apply for institutional membership if it houses a separately administered program or institute.

Graduate students in the field of criminal justice can take advantage of a one-year, free membership in ACJS. This opportunity includes the subscriptions and newsletters, and can be used at any point during a doctoral program.  If you wish to take advantage of this offer, please email your proof Ph.D. status to info@acjs.org.  Proof can be a transcript, letter from your institution, etc.  Once your status is verified, you will be emailed a promotional code to use on the payment page for membership dues which will credit the $60 fee.  You can only take advantage of this offer once during your time as a graduate student.

Join or Renew ACJS Membership:

By joining the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, members agree to comply with the Academy's Code of Ethics . 

The Academy is a professional organization supporting affirmative action to ensure equal opportunities in programs, activities and employment, regardless of race, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation and/or gender.

To join ACJS for the first time, click the “Join as a New Member” icon button to complete the membership application and submit your dues payment.

To renew with ACJS as an existing Member, click the “Renew Existing Membership” icon button to sign into the member Info Hub and submit your dues payment as promoted by the notification. Please do not create a new member record if you joined ACJS in the past. You can contact the ACJS Association Manager at manager@acjs.org, if you do not remember your Username. If you know your username but don’t remember your password, you can hit the “Forgot My Password” button to reset it. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the link to reset your password in your general inbox. If there is no message indicating that your membership has expired when you sign in, your membership is current and no action is required.

Dues payments can be made by credit card or check. To pay by check, select the “Invoice” option during the check-out process, print the invoice you receive, and mail a copy with your payment to: Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, P.O. Box 960, Greenbelt, MD 20768-0960, Attn: Association Manager.
