Time:  1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Description:

Faculty members often find themselves in leadership roles with little preparation, guidance, and mentorship. The Academic Leadership Development Summit (ALDS) allows new and aspiring academic leaders to network and hear from experienced peers. The Summit will hold closed sessions for participants on Tuesday afternoon (3/11, 1-5pm) and Friday morning (3/14, 8-9:30am), and will sponsor two roundtables for all ACJS conference participants. The summit will examine the challenges and opportunities of academic leadership roles, leadership styles and how they might translate to specific outcomes, how to manage conflict, and other issues of interest to participants. Applicants will complete a short interest survey as part of the application process so the Summit can be of maximum relevance and interest. The ALDS is a way for ACJS to help better prepare the next generation of academic leaders in criminology and criminal justice.

The workshop is free of charge, but advance registration is required.
